See Creature | GMTK 2026

Overview

In See Creature, you’re a deep sea diver trying to get to the bottom of the ocean- but you need to make sure to keep track of the creatures you see!

We’re a ragtag group of 3 software developers, and this is our entry for the 2026 GMTK game jam!  Along with our own custom music and art, this game was also made using Mojo’s custom game engine (which is a huge deal for us!!!)

Directions

Use `A` and `D` to move left and right, respectively.

While descending in a level, make sure not to run into any creatures.

On the right side of each level, there will be a picture of a creature that you need to count. While your diver is descending, you will not only need to avoid running into sea creatures, but also keep track of how many of the specificied sea creature you see!

At the end of each level, you will be quized on how many of that creature type there were. If you answer wrong... well, you'll find out. 

Complete all 10 levels successfully to beat the game!

Team Spotlight

Mojo

Our fearless leader, Mojo is an aspiring game dev with quite a few game jams under his belt. His most recent endeavor is to build his own game engine, which we used to make this game! He has a youtube channel where he streams live game dev a few times a week. Make sure to check it out! He is also an avid OnePiece fan, a golfer, and a dad of 2.

Mojo did all of the coding for this game.

McKaylis

Software developer by day, and desperately trying to do all of her hobbies at night. McKaylis is pretty meh on game dev, but sometimes she is nice and helps her husband (Mojo!!) when doing game jams. She enjoys rock climbing, traveling, watercolor, and learning Chinese.

Mckaylis created all of the art for this game.

MosDog

Another aspiring game dev with his own youtube channel, Mosdog is a talented software developer AND musician! He is a watch enthusiast, ATLA finatic, and has recently been convinced to watch OnePiece by his brother (Mojo!) and he even likes it. He's a proud dad to Rayla the bearded dragon.
